I founded Problem Solved Dog Training after graduating from a selective and rigorous dog training program given by John Van Olden of Canine Trade Group. While working with my training clients, I noticed an alarming trend of dogs displaying anxiety related issues stemming from overall lack of mental and physical stimulation. In puppies and adult dogs, anxiety often leads to building levels of frustration, which can show its ugly colors in the form of excessive barking, anxious licking creating hot spots, digging, destruction, hyperactivity, jumping and various other destructive behaviors. Who can blame them? I would go stir crazy too! When I ask clients about their dog’s exercise, many state they have a big backyard the dog plays in. Don't think you can just stick your dog in the yard and he'll exercise himself. If you go into the back yard, does that mean you get exercise? Of course not! We have to move our bodies, get our heart rates up, build strength, but feel motivated to even start!
For both human and dog alike, exercise is essential to achieve your best physical and mental health. Exercise controls weight, improves mood, boosts energy, promotes better sleep, and can help protect you and your dog from disease. Guess what else will improve your mood? Tired dogs cannot get into trouble! They’re too tired to! A tired trained dog is an even better dog, so incorporating obedience into the exercise session is just genius!
That’s why when I heard about Thank Dog Boot Camp I decided to bring this enormously popular program to Chicagoland. It’s a one-stop fitness program that combines a strenuous workout with basic obedience for both dogs and their people. I once read “dogs are nature’s perfect personal trainers.” I’ll tell you what folks, after flying to LA and spending every day getting trained to teach this program, I could not agree more!! I wanted to get up and exercise! I was actually excited to get up and do it because exercising with your dog is actually FUN.
Thank Dog Boot Camp is the first of its kind anywhere and I am extremely proud to finally offer it to you! The workout is catered to everyone, any skill and any age. It is challenging for all, but you can also take it at your own pace. Best of all, combining both dog training and exercise solves the problem of a gym, dog walker, doggie daycare, dog trainer and gym/club memberships you pay for and never use. Give us a call and set up a consultation and join us in physical and mental health as well as fun while training your dog.
